NHL Top Performers - Western Conference

Written by Keesje @keesje_ingamer

Let’s roll into the West now as I look at each Canadian team and their top 3 Star Selector leading scorers. Keep in mind when reading this that Star Selector only accrues points for Hockey Night in Canada broadcast games.

Calgary Flames
Calgary has been hot of late riding a 4 game winning streak into the all-star break. All world captain Jarome Iginla has been the most consistent Flame and its Star Selector leader.
Star Selector Leaders:
Jarome Iginla 3135
Mikka Kiprusoff 2460
Mark Giordano 2329
Calgary hopes to keep their resurgence alive when they play host to the L.A Kings Saturday night at 10:00pm.

Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers have gone through another season of growing pains but fear not as there are plenty of young guns ready to take the leap to superstardom. No 1 overall draft pick Taylor Hall is leading the charge both on the ice and within Star Selector.
Star Selector Leaders:
Taylor Hall 2098
Dustin Penner 1988
Nikolai Khabibulin 1956
Edmonton travels to Columbus this Saturday for a 7:00pm game against the Blue Jackets.

Vancouver Canucks
It should be no surprise that the high flying Canucks are putting up high Star Selector points. What is surprising is that Ryan Kesler, despite trailing team scoring leader Daniel Sedin by 17 points, is the leading Star Selector by over 1000 points. How is this possible? Star Selector only tracks points accrued during HNIC broadcast games and obviously Mr. Kesler likes to perform on Saturday nights.
Star Selector Leaders:
Ryan Kesler 4396
Henrik Sedin 3303
Roberto Luongo 3292
Vancouver is the only Canadian not featured in a HNIC broadcast game this weekend but returns to action when the host the Flames on Hockey Day in Canada.
